Jul 1, 2026
- It will auction 1.5 TWh through its subsidiary GR Power
- The energy, for both the nighttime and daytime periods, comes from solar generation and battery storage across different Grenergy plants in the north and center of the country
- Companies may submit their applications until July 22
Santiago, Chile, July 1st, 2026. Grenergy has launched a reverse auction in Chile for the sale of 1.5 TWh per year of energy from various solar and storage plants owned by the company and located in the northern and central regions of the country. The auction, managed through its subsidiary GR Power, is aimed at generators, retailers and large consumers looking to secure competitive supply in the coming years.
The auction includes the injection of 960 GWh/year of battery-stored energy during the nighttime period, as well as 540 GWh of solar photovoltaic generation, with supply scheduled between the second and third quarters of 2028.
The auction structure allows participants to bid for the full volume or only part of it, as the volume is split into 20 GWh contracting units. Bidders may choose between contract tenors of 6, 8, 10, 12 or 15 years, depending on their hedging needs.
Applications are now open, with a consultation period available until July 7 and a registration deadline until July 22 through the Match Energía power marketplace.
This is the third time Grenergy has launched its own renewable energy auction. In March 2022, the company became the first clean energy producer in Latin America to carry out such an auction. This model broadens access to a wider range of generators, retailers and other corporations interested in securing clean, stable energy at competitive prices.
Chile, a key market for Grenergy
Since its arrival in 2012, Grenergy has turned Chile into the center of its growth in Latin America. Over the years, the company has established itself as one of the leading foreign investors in energy and as a benchmark in solar and storage integration.
Its Oasis Atacama platform, in the northern part of the country, is already operating 2.5 GW of solar capacity and 14 GWh of storage. That hybrid model, developed in Atacama, is now expanding to the center of the country with Oasis Central, which adds 1.4 GW of solar capacity and 5.1 GWh of storage.
Building on this experience, Grenergy is now expanding its model to Europe while reaffirming its commitment to Chile: more solar, more storage and new digital infrastructure that strengthen its role in the country’s energy transition.
