Madrid, March 24, 2026. Grenergy continues to reinforce its corporate structure by developing the Energy Management division. To this end, the company has recently appointed Juan Blanco as Global Director of Energy Management.

Juan Blanco is specialist in energy trading, optimization strategies, and storage system management and brings a quantitative and market-oriented perspective to maximize the value of the company’s assets. He holds a degree in industrial engineering from ICAI and a PhD in Physics from EPFL. He joins Grenergy after working at Axpo Iberia and previously at IGNIS and Invesyde.

He will be responsible for developing advanced energy management capabilities, including the integration of storage assets into electricity markets, the definition of multi-market strategies, and real-time production optimization, all of which will directly contribute to the company’s profitability.

The Energy Management department is part of the Energy division, led by Daniel Barman, who recently joined the company’s Executive Committee.

A strategic division

The Energy Management division plays a fundamental role in the evolution of Grenergy’s business model, enabling the company to actively manage when, how, and in which markets its energy is sold.

In a context defined by the growing penetration of clean energy and increasingly dynamic markets, advanced optimization and flexible asset management have emerged as key levers for capturing value in electricity markets.

This vision is driving the transition from a model focused exclusively on energy sales to one based on comprehensive and intelligent energy management.

According to David Ruiz de Andrés, CEO of Grenergy:

We are proud to keep attracting talent to the company. Energy management is already a fundamental part of our business model and is accelerating the transformation we are undertaking through storage. As power markets have become increasingly dynamic, intelligent energy management is a key factor for our growth.
