About the project…

The Escuderos solar plant in the municipalities of Altarejos and Poveda de Obispalía (Cuenca, Spain) generates clean electricity from a renewable energy source, solar radiation. With a total of 361.11 ha, the four plants that comprises Escuderos evacuate the energy in the SET Complex Photovoltaic Altarejos 132/30 kV, to be conducted through a 15.2 km long high-voltage power line at 132 kV and to the 132/400 kV Villanueva de los Escuderos Renovables SET, which in turn is connected to the 400 kV Villanueva de los Escuderos SET, owned by Red Eléctrica de España.

The plant has 540,360 photovoltaic panels of 370 Wp and an efficiency of 20.7-21%. The modules are installed on trackers, structures that automatically track the position of the sun in an East-West direction throughout the day, thus maximizing production at all times. In addition, the plant has a control system against wind gusts of over 60 km/h, which places the photovoltaic panels in a horizontal position to minimize the stress due to excessive wind on the structure.”
